Custom White Balance Made Easy

The Vivicap is a new concept in lens caps that makes it simple and convenient to take a White Balance reading every time you take your camera out of your camera bag.

Photographers are familiar with the importance of using their lens caps to prevent dust and smears on their lens. Colour Management in the camera is another hugely important part of the Digital Photographic Process and where White Balance readings are taken the quality of images increases greatly.

Not taking a quick White balance reading could be compared with allowing dust and smears onto your lens by not using a lenscap.

The Vivicap is a new concept where Seculine have designed and created a lens cap made from white balance filter material. 

This combination puts White Balance measurement conveniently and precisely where it needs to be when your camera is taken from your bag – right on the lens – so all you need do is take a quick reading, remove the Vivicap and start taking perfectly balanced images.

Once you have finished shooting at that location you will then replace the Vivicap on your lens to protect it against dust and dirt, making it ready for your next White balance reading at your new location.

Using Vivicap for White Balance Measurement

1. Turn on your DSLR camera with Vivicap installed on your lens
2. Set the focus mode to MF (to prevent the AF system hunting for focus through the opaque filter materiel).
3. Set the camera's White Balance mode to CUSTOM or PRESET.
4. Turn the cameras lens towards the light source illuminating your subject and fire the shutter to take a White Balance reading.
5. With the new White Balance reading set, remove Vivicap from your lens and start shooting.
